1331年に生まれ、新田氏の嫡男である義貞の弟として育った。南北朝の混乱期に南朝方の武将として各地の合戦に参加し、軍事的手腕を発揮したとされる。正平23年（1368年）7月21日に没し、戦乱の中でその生涯を閉じた。兄の義貞が鎌倉幕府打倒の中心人物であった影響から、新田氏一族の一翼を担った。詳細な戦績記録は限られるものの、南朝側の重要な武将の一人として史料に名を残す。

1503年に生まれ、越後国の有力地侍である長尾氏の一族として活動した。戦国時代の混乱期に家督を継ぎ、領地の防衛や隣国勢力との抗争に従事したとされる。具体的な合戦記録は乏しいが、同地域の戦国大名である上杉氏との関係構築に影響を与えた可能性がある。天文21年（1552年）8月15日に没し、その死は地域の勢力地図に変動をもたらした。

Born in 1599, Oliver Cromwell emerged as a leading figure in the English Civil Wars, commanding the New Model Army on behalf of Parliament.
