英国放送協会 (BBC) がテレビ放送の実験番組を放送。
The BBC aired its first experimental television broadcast, pioneering early television technology in Britain.
On August 22, 1932, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) transmitted its first experimental television service from Alexandra Palace in London. Using John Logie Baird's mechanical scanning system, the broadcast featured simple test patterns and moving images of staff and volunteers. These pioneering transmissions were received by a limited number of viewers with special receivers. The experiments demonstrated the feasibility of regular television services and spurred further technical developments. The BBC continued tests until launching the world's first regular high-definition television service in 1936. This milestone marked the beginning of television as a public broadcast medium.
