本間光丘（1732年－1801年）は、出羽国酒田の名門豪商本間家の一員である。 米・酒・油などの商取引で財を成し、江戸との廻船業を通じて物流の発展に貢献した。 酒田湊の整備や港湾事業に投資し、交易の拠点としての地位を確立した。 文化事業にも理解が深く、寺社への寄進や学問奨励にも力を注いだ。 享和元年6月1日に没するまで、酒田の繁栄を支え続けた。

Born in 1942, he earned a Ph.D. in computer science and became a pioneer in microcomputer software development. In 1974, he founded Digital Research, which released the popular CP/M operating system and became a standard for early personal computers. Kildall's innovations influenced the development of MS-DOS and shaped the personal computing industry. He also authored programming languages and contributed to disk operating systems for various hardware platforms. Despite his groundbreaking work, he remained less widely known than some contemporaries. His legacy endures through his contributions to operating system design and the growth of the software industry. Kildall passed away in 1994, just as personal computing was entering the mainstream.

1959年生まれ。1980年にHAL研究所に入社し、プログラマーとして活躍。 『星のカービィ』シリーズなどの開発に携わり、ゲーム制作の才能を発揮。 2000年に任天堂に入社し、2002年より社長を務める。 在任中にニンテンドーDSやWiiを発売し、世界的なヒットを記録。 「任天堂ダイレクト」の司会としてユーザーに親しまれた。 革新的な経営手法でゲーム業界に大きな足跡を残した。
