Born in 1837 in Edo (modern Tokyo), Jūrō Abe joined the Shinsengumi under the leadership of Kondo Isami. He fought to uphold the Tokugawa shogunate during the tumultuous years leading up to the Meiji Restoration. Abe participated in key events such as the Ikedaya Incident and the Battle of Toba-Fushimi. Known for his loyalty and skill with the sword, he embodied the samurai code of honor. After the fall of the shogunate, details of his later life are scarce, but his service has been immortalized in Japanese historical accounts and popular culture.

1901年に四川省で生まれ、若年期から革命運動に参加。 八路軍や新四軍の指揮官として抗日戦争に貢献。 1955年に元帥に任命され、人民解放軍の最高位の一人に。 1958年から1972年まで外交部長を務め、中華人民共和国の対外政策を推進。 詩人としても才能を発揮し、詩作を通じて政治的思索を表現した。
