Pioneering German aviator and the first woman in Germany to earn a pilot's license.
Amelie Beese was born in 1886 and made history in 1911 by becoming the first German woman to obtain a pilot's license. Trained in Berlin-Johannistal, she also studied engineering and was fascinated by early aircraft design. Beese co-founded a flying school and inspired other women to pursue aviation. She performed in air shows and contributed to the development of civil aviation in Europe. Despite facing social barriers, her achievements paved the way for future female pilots. Beese passed away in 1925 at the age of 39.
