John Roskelley (born December 1, 1948) is a celebrated American mountaineer and author. He has been part of groundbreaking ascents in the Himalayas, including Annapurna and Everest expeditions. Roskelley's passion for exploration has taken him to some of the world's highest peaks, where he combined technical skill with perseverance. In addition to his climbing achievements, he has written several books detailing his adventures and the lessons learned in extreme environments. Aleksandr Panayotov Aleksandrov (born 1951) is a retired Bulgarian cosmonaut who flew to the Mir space station as part of the Soviet Intercosmos program. He launched aboard Soyuz TM-5 on 7 June 1988, spending nearly a week conducting scientific experiments in microgravity. Aleksandrov’s work focused on biomedical research and Earth observation, contributing to international space science. Before his selection, he served as a pilot in the Bulgarian Air Force and trained extensively at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. After his mission, he held leadership roles in Bulgaria’s space research community and inspired a generation of Eastern European astronauts.
