Haldeman was a key figure in the administration's inner circle and played a central role in implementing the Nixon administration's policies. He was implicated in the Watergate scandal, convicted of obstruction of justice, and served 18 months in prison. After his release, he wrote the memoir The Ends of Power and spent his later years in private business until his death.
