Italian Stinger
Description
Italian Stinger is an Italian-style arrangement of the classic Stinger cocktail. While the traditional Stinger born in America in the 1890s uses white mint liqueur, this version uses Italian amaretto. It's an elegant and approachable short cocktail that harmonizes amaretto's rich almond aroma and sweetness with brandy's deep flavor. It's enjoyed as an after-dinner drink or as an aperitif before dinner.
Origin
Country of Origin: United States・Italy (1960年代)
Created as a variation of the Stinger cocktail that gained popularity during America's Prohibition era, using Italian amaretto. In the 1960s, when high-quality amaretto like Disaronno became internationally available, bartenders began creating variations that replaced the Stinger's mint liqueur with amaretto. This resulted in a cocktail with a mellower and more approachable flavor.
