Wiley Post was born in 1898 in Texas and became one of aviation’s most celebrated pioneers. In 1931, he completed the first solo flight around the world, setting a record of 7 days' flight time. Post also collaborated with aerospace engineers to develop one of the first pressure suits, enabling high-altitude flight. He worked for Lockheed and logged thousands of flight hours. Post’s achievements expanded the possibilities of commercial and exploratory aviation. Tragically, he died in 1935 in a plane crash in Alaska alongside humorist Will Rogers. His legacy lives on in modern aviation and flight safety.
