Description

Scorpion is a representative tiki cocktail born in Hawaii in the 1940s. Created by Trader Vic, this cocktail features a complex and profound taste combining white rum and brandy with three types of citrus fruits. The almond flavor of orgeat brings everything together, creating a tropical mood with its beautiful golden color. The high alcohol content hidden behind its easy drinkability has a dangerous charm like scorpion venom.

Origin

Country of Origin: United States (Hawaii) (1940s)

In the 1940s, Victor Bergeron (Trader Vic) discovered a delicious cocktail using the local distilled liquor 'Okolehao' at a bar called 'The Hut' in Honolulu. Impressed by its taste, he recreated this recipe at his own establishment 'Trader Vic's' in Oakland, California on the mainland, and through repeated improvements, completed the current Scorpion. When first published in 1947, it had become one of the signature menu items of the establishment.
