João Braz de Aviz (born April 24, 1947) is a Brazilian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He was ordained a priest in 1972 and later served as Bishop of Coxim and Archbishop of Marília in Brazil. In 2011, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, overseeing religious orders worldwide.
