Lejay Cassis Soda
Description
Lejay Cassis Soda is a refreshing long cocktail made by mixing premium cassis liqueur from Dijon, France with soda water. This easy-to-drink cocktail combines the deep purple color and rich aroma of traditional cassis liqueur from Lejay, established in 1841, with the refreshing sensation of carbonation. With a low alcohol content of about 5%, the natural sweet and sour taste of cassis perfectly matches the stimulating effervescence of soda. Adding lemon enhances the refreshing taste even more, making it a versatile cocktail that can be enjoyed casually even during meals.
Origin
Country of Origin: France (1841年)
In 1841, Auguste Denis Lagoute began factory production of cassis liqueur in Dijon, Burgundy, France. Inspired by Ratafia (a liqueur mixing multiple fruits) that was popular in Paris at the time, he became the first to produce pure cassis liqueur using modern methods. In an era when only herbal liqueurs and distilled spirits existed, creating liqueur by macerating fruits was a revolutionary invention.
